We are a family owned Boston based company which is unusual in Boston believe it or not! Our founder, Bill McDonough found his love of history as a Western Union Messenger boy in the 50’s on the streets of Boston and later taught history on the high school and college levels. The love he had for this wonderful region was passed on to his four grown children, two of whom now work for the family business.
Our mission is to provide tours of the highest quality; whether you are a solitary traveler, a family, or a large corporate organization. Our guides are all personable, mature, and highly educated local residents. It is through our guides that we are able to offer such an extensive variety of tours via walking, sedan, SUV, van, limo, or chartered bus that can be customized to suit your needs and desires.
We provide specialized, private tours of Boston, historic sites on both the North and South shores of Massachusetts, and Newport, Rhode Island.
Some of our tour areas include:
Salem, Massachusetts, often considered the Halloween Capital of the United States, the site of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692-1693, and the location where the film Hocus Pocus (1992) was filmed;
Newport, Rhode Island, where the mansions of the Gilded Age are located; or Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the Pilgrims first settled in 1620, and where you can see many historic locations including Plymouth Plantation and the Mayflower II.
We also tour Cape Cod, coastal Maine, Gloucester, Lexington and Concord … and more.
If history isn’t your passion, we have tours focusing on such sights as architecture, autumn foliage, covered bridges, lighthouses, or even the charming towns of New Hampshire or Vermont. If you so desire, we can arrange multi-day or overnight excursions to visit various states in New England.
Should you be a prospective college student, Boston has over 100 Colleges and Universities and we can help you plan a tour to visit the colleges of your choice, provide helpful pointers about the neighborhoods you may like to visit, and help you with information about the local transportation system or even the after-hours hot-spots for students.
In addition to English, We have guides who speak Spanish, French & German and can obtain translators for other languages.
We love a challenge – please feel free to contact us with special requests!
